As is the case for many mental health therapists, I am trained in a variety of evidence based and evidence supported treatments to help people with their current struggles. If you are unsure what that means, or unsure which treatment might be right for you; PLEASE DON’T WORRY. Reach out and we can talk further about the options. That being said, below is a list of treatments I utilize to assist people in working through difficult situations.
Treatment of Anxiety Disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) – I have been trained by the International OCD Foundation in the evidence-based practice of ERP treatment to help adults, teens and children better manage the symptoms of their Anxiety Disorder or OCD. This treatment involves learning about the cycle of anxiety and OCD and participating in practices to help increase anxiety tolerance and develop more flexible ways of confronting this challenging emotion. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – This empirically-supported approach to therapy encourages child, teen and adult clients to address their anxiety head on by accepting themselves as they are, identifying their values and committing to take action towards their values.
